[DOSSIER] The 3 pillars of next-generation route optimization

Myriam de Kardinal

Myriam Mokrani, Head of Product of Kardinal

Last mile logistics is an extraordinarily complex and changing industry. Today, operators must manage an increasingly constrained schedule while continuously adapting to the hazards they encounter. My main concern is to offer our users the ability to manage these changes and anticipate them in order to obtain efficient and realistic routes in the field.

This requires a radically different approach in the design of our product, at all levels of its use. First, during planning: we have developed our own predictive traffic models as well as algorithms able to use them BEFORE the route calculation (and this changes everything!). Then, once the drivers are on the road: our solution works continuously to help them face the volatility of the field. Finally, after operations: our solution incorporates Machine Learning algorithms that improve understanding of what is happening on the road and uses it to refine future route optimizations.

Taking traffic into account BEFORE route optimization: a small detail for great impacts

Kardinal’s solution is designed for the most demanding last mile urban applications. Find out how our teams designed an optimization system that truly takes traffic into account.

Continuous route optimization is essential for urban logistics

Continuous optimization to react to unforeseen events: for us, this is the secret of a route optimization solution adapted to the challenges of urban logistics.

Machine Learning for route optimization, the future of continuous improvement

Optimizing your routes is good. Making them more and more accurate day after day thanks to Machine Learning is even better! Discover the system designed by our teams to integrate a real continuous improvement approach to your routes.
