Terms of use and sale — Laskar

Laskar app general terms of use and sale

Version v1.1 Effective date — 11 August 2026

These terms govern access to and use of the Laskar mobile app, a route-optimization tool, as well as the subscription to paid plans.

ARTICLE 01

Publisher identity

The Laskar mobile application (the "App") is published by KARDINAL, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €3,627.70, whose registered office is located at 10 rue de Penthièvre, 75008 Paris (France), registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 809 234 586, SIRET 809 234 586 00026, intra-Community VAT number FR89 809234586, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Jonathan Bouaziz, publication director (hereinafter "Kardinal", "we").

App data hosting: Google Cloud Platform / Firebase (European Union); certain processing operations may be carried out by providers operating outside the EU, under the conditions set out in article 21 and the Privacy Policy.

ARTICLE 02

Purpose and scope

These terms (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the App as well as the subscription to paid plans. They form a single contract combining the terms of use (licence) and the terms of sale (subscription).

The App is a route-optimization tool designed to facilitate the planning and execution of delivery or collection routes. It is a support tool and is neither an emergency service nor an autonomous driving system.

The App is intended exclusively for professional use. It is aimed at professionals (companies, self-employed individuals, sole traders) acting in the course of their business. By creating an Account and subscribing to a Plan, the User represents that they are acting for professional purposes, within the scope of their commercial, industrial, craft, liberal or agricultural activity, and not as a consumer.

ARTICLE 03

Definitions

App: the Laskar mobile application, on iOS and Android.

User: the professional who downloads, installs or uses the App.

Account: the User's personal space.

Route: a list of addresses (stops) organized into an optimized itinerary.

Free Plan (Freemium): free access to limited features.

Subscription: paid access to advanced features (Monthly or Weekly plans).

Store: the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, depending on the platform.

ARTICLE 04

Access conditions and declaration of professional status

The App is available via the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, in the territories where these platforms distribute it. The User must have a compatible device and, for certain features, an Internet connection.

Access is reserved for professionals of legal age. When creating an Account, the User expressly declares that they are acting as a professional for the needs of their business. This declaration is collected via a positive action (an unchecked checkbox) and may be supplemented by the User indicating their company and, where applicable, their SIREN number. The User acknowledges that the Subscription is taken out for the needs of their professional activity and that, as a result, the provisions of the French Consumer Code applicable only to consumers and non-professionals are not intended to apply.

Kardinal reserves the right to refuse or terminate access in the event of a manifestly inaccurate declaration.

ARTICLE 05

Account creation, security and deletion

5.1Creation. The Account can be created using a phone number (one-time code / SMS OTP), an email address, or via "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple". The User shall provide accurate and up-to-date information.

5.2Security. The User shall keep their access credentials confidential and is responsible for all activity carried out from their Account. They shall inform Kardinal without delay of any unauthorized use.

5.3Deletion. The User may delete their Account from the App (Settings → Account → "Delete my account") or via the dedicated public page. Deletion results in the erasure of associated data within thirty (30) days, subject to data retained to comply with a legal obligation (see the Privacy Policy and article 16). Deleting the Account does not cancel a Subscription taken out via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, which must be cancelled separately in the Store settings (article 16).

ARTICLE 06

Technical requirements

Operation of the App requires a compatible device and, for certain features (optimization, synchronization, mapping, address recognition), an Internet connection. Certain features rely on third-party services (article 19) and on device permissions (location, camera, microphone, notifications) that the User grants or denies in their device settings.

ARTICLE 07

Licence of use

Kardinal grants the User a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-assignable licence to use the App, for the needs of their business, for the duration of use. This licence does not involve any transfer of intellectual property (article 20).

On iOS, the licence is granted in accordance with Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (Apple's Standard EULA), supplemented by these Terms. In the event of any contradiction relating to use on iOS, Apple's Standard EULA shall prevail only for the provisions it imposes.

ARTICLE 08

Permitted and prohibited uses

The User shall use the App in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms. In particular, the User shall not: (i) circumvent technical limitations or security measures; (ii) decompile or attempt to extract the source code, except to the extent permitted by law; (iii) use the App for unlawful purposes or in a manner that infringes the rights of third parties; (iv) enter third-party data without a legitimate basis; (v) resell or make access available without authorization.

ARTICLE 09

Free features (Freemium)

The Free Plan notably allows address entry, route optimization for up to 10 addresses per route, an unlimited number of routes, handing off the route to a navigation app, and stop tracking. Kardinal may change the scope of the free plan under the conditions of article 25.

ARTICLE 10

Paid features (Subscription)

The Subscription unlocks optimization for up to 250 addresses per route, as well as the advanced features presented on the subscription screen (paywall) at the time of purchase. The exact scope of unlocked features is the one displayed before the purchase is confirmed.

ARTICLE 11

Prices and taxes

Two Subscription plans are offered:

  • Monthly Subscription: €8.99 per month;
  • Weekly Subscription: €4.99 per week.

These amounts are reference prices in euros. As purchases are made via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, the price actually charged is the one displayed by the Store in the local currency and according to local tax rules, as shown on screen before the purchase is confirmed. Prices are exclusive of any taxes that may apply depending on the professional User's tax status. No payment is made outside the Stores.

ARTICLE 12

Free trial

A seven (7) day free trial may be offered depending on the product configuration in each Store, limited to one trial per User. The duration, eligibility and conditions of the trial are those displayed on the paywall and managed by the Store (for Apple, eligibility by subscription group). At the end of the trial, the Subscription automatically continues as a paid plan at the price indicated, unless auto-renewal is turned off before the end of the trial (article 14).

ARTICLE 13

Apple and Google in-app purchases

Subscriptions are taken out via Apple's or Google's in-app purchase mechanisms. Payment, billing and renewal are managed by the relevant Store, under its own terms. Kardinal does not have access to the User's banking details.

ARTICLE 14

Automatic renewal

The Subscription is automatically renewed upon expiry (each week or each month depending on the plan) at the price then in effect, for as long as it is not cancelled. Renewal is managed and can be turned off in the User's Apple or Google account settings. Kardinal does not directly control the billing date, which is managed by the Store.

ARTICLE 15

Restoring and managing purchases

The User may restore an existing purchase from the App ("Restore purchases") on a device using the same Apple or Google account. Changing plans (monthly/weekly) is done according to the Store's procedures.

ARTICLE 16

Termination

16.1By the User. The User may cancel their Subscription at any time via their Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; access to paid features is retained until that date.

16.2Distinction from Account deletion. Cancelling the Subscription and deleting the Account are two separate actions: deleting the Account does not stop billing by the Store, and cancelling the Subscription does not delete the Account.

16.3By Kardinal. Kardinal may suspend or terminate access in the event of a breach (in particular fraud, unlawful use, harm to security or to the rights of third parties, an inaccurate professional declaration), after notifying the User and, where the nature of the breach allows, with reasonable notice, except in the event of a security emergency.

ARTICLE 17

Refunds

As Subscriptions are sold via the Stores, refund requests are subject to Apple's or Google's rules and procedures. Kardinal has no technical control over refunds processed by the Stores. As a goodwill gesture, in the event of a major unavailability of the App for more than seven (7) consecutive days preventing normal use, the User may request a commercial gesture or a pro rata credit from Kardinal.

ARTICLE 18

Availability and maintenance

Kardinal implements reasonable means to ensure the availability of the App, without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance operations, updates or improvements may cause temporary interruptions, the impact of which Kardinal strives to limit.

ARTICLE 19

Third-party services

The App uses third-party services, in particular: HERE Technologies (travel time estimates), Google Maps / Waze / HERE WeGo (handing off the route to the navigation app chosen by the User), Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, hosting, technical measurements), Google Gemini via Vertex AI (address recognition via photo/video OCR and voice input), RevenueCat (subscription management), Adjust (attribution measurement, subject to the User's consent), and an SMS delivery provider (SMSenvoi). These services are subject to their own terms. The related data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.

ARTICLE 20

Intellectual property

The App, its software components, its brand, its interfaces and its content are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of Kardinal or its licensors. Data entered by the User (addresses, notes, photos) remains theirs; the User grants Kardinal a limited licence to use it solely for the purpose of providing the service.

ARTICLE 21

Personal data and data protection

21.1Information and policy. The processing of personal data by Kardinal is described in Laskar's Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of the contractual information.

21.2Allocation of roles. Kardinal acts as data controller for the processing operations it determines (account management, subscriptions, security, service improvement). For third-party data that the User enters or imports as part of their routes (in particular names, addresses, contact details, notes and photos relating to recipients), the User is the data controller and Kardinal acts as processor within the meaning of article 28 of the GDPR, in accordance with the User's instructions. A data processing agreement (DPA) is made available and entered into at the User's request; it prevails over this article for the processing operations concerned.

21.3User obligations and warranties. The User, as data controller for third-party data, warrants that they:

  • have a valid legal basis to collect and process the data of recipients and other third parties that they enter into the App;
  • have provided data subjects with the required information and respect their rights;
  • do not enter or transmit into the App any special category data within the meaning of article 9 of the GDPR (health, opinions, biometric data, etc.) or data relating to minors, except with an appropriate legal basis and under their sole responsibility;
  • limit the data entered to what is strictly necessary for carrying out their routes;
  • comply with all their obligations as data controller, including when using the App to track the activity of their own employees or subcontractors.

21.4Automated recognition and artificial intelligence features. The photo/video address recognition (OCR) and voice input features rely on third-party artificial intelligence services (Google Gemini via Vertex AI). The User acknowledges and accepts that:

  • they are solely responsible for the content (images, videos, voice recordings) they submit to these features and for its lawfulness;
  • they shall not submit special category data or third-party data for which they do not have a legal basis;
  • recognition is automated and provided "as is": it may contain errors or omissions, and the results (recognized addresses, extracted text) must be verified by the User before any use;
  • this content is transmitted to the provider solely for recognition purposes, under the conditions described in the Privacy Policy (§ 4.1), without being used to train models.

21.5Geolocation. The geolocation features, including background location, are provided for professional purposes of route tracking and optimization. When the User implements them with regard to individuals (employees, subcontractors), it is their responsibility to comply with the applicable framework (prior information, proportionality, consultation of employee representative bodies where required). Kardinal provides the tool; the User defines and controls its use.

21.6Security and incidents. Each party implements appropriate security measures. In the event of a data breach affecting data processed on behalf of the User, Kardinal shall inform the User without undue delay so as to allow them to comply with their own obligations.

21.7Warranty and indemnification. The User shall indemnify Kardinal against any claim, action, sanction or judgment brought by a third party, a data subject or a supervisory authority, resulting from the User's breach of their obligations under this article (in particular the absence of a legal basis, failure to inform data subjects, entry of unlawful or special category data, or non-compliant use of the recognition or geolocation features). This indemnity covers damages, costs and reasonable defense fees incurred by Kardinal. It is without prejudice to Kardinal's own liabilities, which cannot be excluded by contract.

ARTICLE 22

User responsibility — road safety and route execution

The User acknowledges that the App provides planning assistance and that:

  • they remain solely responsible for their driving and for safety;
  • they must comply with traffic regulations, road signs, traffic restrictions and the limitations applicable to their vehicle;
  • they must not operate the App while driving when it is prohibited or dangerous to do so;
  • routes, distances and estimated arrival times are indicative and may differ from reality (traffic, road closures, mapping errors, unforeseen conditions);
  • it is their responsibility to check that the vehicle and roads used are suitable;
  • the App is neither an emergency service nor an autonomous driving system.

The User is responsible for the lawfulness of the data they enter, including data relating to third parties (recipients), and for having a legal basis for its processing.

ARTICLE 23

Kardinal's liability

Kardinal provides the App with a level of care and diligence consistent with best practices. Its liability may only be engaged in the event of proven fault and only for direct and foreseeable damages. Without limiting liabilities that cannot legally be limited (in particular personal injury, gross or willful misconduct), Kardinal's total liability, regardless of cause, is limited to the amount paid by the User over the past twelve (12) months. Kardinal is not liable for indirect damages, in particular loss of business, customers, data or revenue.

ARTICLE 24

Force majeure

Kardinal's liability shall not be engaged in the event of non-performance due to a force majeure event within the meaning of article 1218 of the French Civil Code.

ARTICLE 25

Changes to the Terms

Kardinal may amend these Terms. In the event of a material change (in particular to price, the scope of the Subscription or essential obligations), Kardinal shall inform the User by an appropriate means (notification in the App, email or information screen) before it takes effect, with reasonable notice. A User who does not accept the change may terminate under the conditions of article 16. Minor changes may be applied without formality.

ARTICLE 26

Term and end of contract

The Terms apply for the entire duration of use of the App and/or the Subscription. They end upon deletion of the Account and/or cancellation of the Subscription, subject to the provisions which, by their nature, survive (intellectual property, liability, statutory retention obligations).

ARTICLE 27

Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law.

ARTICLE 28

Disputes

28.1Prior complaint. Any complaint may be sent to the App's support. Kardinal endeavors to respond as soon as possible and to seek an amicable solution.

28.2Jurisdiction. Failing an amicable resolution, any dispute relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, including in the event of multiple defendants, third-party proceedings or urgent proceedings.

As these Terms are addressed only to professionals, no consumer mediation scheme is provided.

ARTICLE 29

Contact and support
